Social stratification is a social attribute and not a personal point of view. The culture forms a consistent method of sorting individuals ‘which is not a single individual’s aim’. Social stratification is believed to be widespread and flexible. Though this declaration appears ambiguous, it requires that categorization is equal in a particular civilization but will differ when associated with other cultures. The reasons regarding the occurrence of social inequality seems to vary but it can be far-reaching or broad. There are different types of inequality that exists in our society namely, economic inequality, civil inequality, political inequality, legal inequality, etc. the impact of inequality on various sectors of our society are as follows:

Economic — I have seen that if many people of a nation have a generally good and balanced lifestyle, the ill-effects of economic inequality are not felt much or not raged about often.

So my question here is, why is it that more people do not have a good standard of living?

There are many paths to raising a general standard of living. They charter through either:

(i) meaningful and generally beneficial legislation (government), (ii) opportunities (access to free markets), (iii) value addition (through education or skills or service)

it is a lot more important to build opportunities, free markets, educational institutions, good communities, easy access to capital and a good R&D foundation with Intellectual Property protection.

A positive minded nation and its people will often break down any barriers that stand in the way of self development and improved living conditions.

Health — Unequal society is a major factor that plays a role in affecting peoples health as well as their level of happiness. The health care service that are provided mostly depends on how much money you can give. Sadly, even in the medical industry people who has a higher amount of money is being prioritized. This is sometimes compounded by high out-of-pocket expenditures, with the rising financial burden of health care falling overwhelming on private households, which account for more than three-quarter of health spending. Health expenditures are responsible for more than half of Americans households especially those with little or no help from the government or even undocumented immigrants falling into poverty; the impact of this has been increasing pushing a lot of the populace into poverty each year.

Happiness and political — Sometimes the key to being rich is to be born rich, and the key to being poor is to be born poor, inequality means societal unhappiness.

That is how it is the USA and the UK today, countries with low Social mobility.

Essentially the landed gentry and poor serfs that work the land except in a modern economy fall as a prey to conditions such as this.

These are societies with inequality that is rooted in discrimination created by the political/ economic system as equal opportunity does not exist for all. These are unhappy societies because there is discrimination and despair.
